My house went up for a tax sale and someone purchased the certificate. They are about to foreclose. My father is on SS disability and we live in New Jersey. He is half owner of the house which he shares with a brother. The house is paid off except for the taxes. Are there any programs, loans, or any help out there that can save my house?

Okay. Basically I rented a house with my 2 children and I later found out that my house was being foreclosed because the owner or shall I say previous owner missed her mortgage payments.

We got about a month behind on our mortgage right after hurricane Ivan due to damages and my husband out of work (his work was damaged). We have our mortgage through Ameriquest. We almost had it caught up and they upped the interest rate twice, increasing the monthly payment, that plus the late fees keep piling up. We wound up two months behind. I sent this months’ payment in plus an extra $100, but they still haven’t applied it to my mortgage. What do I do? And if they are starting the preforeclosure things will they refuse my monthly payment? BTW, I live in Florida. I don’t want to lose our house. If we can just work out the two back payments and slack off on the late fees, we can make the mortgage payment ok.

What is the quickest way to halt a foreclosure. I do not have the cash to bring it out of arrears and the bank has accellerated the note. Is Bankruptcy the best way to stop it for now. I have placed it up for sale and have a couple of parties interested. I am running out of time. The bank does have mortage insurance on the note . Please give solid advice.

Filing a BK is supposed to stop a lender from being able to auction off home in foreclosure. If the auction was scheduled for 10:30am and the BK wasn’t filed until 1:30pm, would the lender be able to buy the home back? Does the actual ‘time of day’ BK is filed determine the outcome of a sale or not?
